The problem lies in the observation that all these 'good intentions and good
ideas' get so subjected to SOM scrutiny that, in the end they are rendered
meaningless.
And we all know what survives.
This is what Pirsig tried to avoid by refusing to define Quality.
We need to start thinking and 'reasoning' from a MoQ 'frame of mind'. As
Platt says: this is difficult to maintain.
For what its worth.

Many good posts. Your really spot on in what you've said in many here.
I would say, what you said here is what I meant by "Kill Intellectual Patterns".
This is what I thought Pirsig meant. To kill or rid som patterns, empty our intellect
in order to instantly take in and understand quality. It is a process. The killing
intellectual patterns was a step in the process from som intellect to "MOQ 'frame
of mind'" Kill or rid also has to do with Pirsig "refusing to define Quality", for
kill or rid is letting go, opening up, and having an open-mind, and understanding
the "problem lies in the observation that all these 'good intentions and good
ideas'... are rendered meaningless" in SOM.
good post.
