[MD] Shouldn’t we be, like, revolting ?

[Marsha]
Sorry about the god references in this article, I don't really even
acknowledge the word anymore. Kali Yuga, to me, means were' in a
period of destruction. Well, it sure seems that way. Sorry for not
being more sensitive.

[Arlo]
I see god references as analogies. "Shiva" is a personification of
the destructive-generative aspect of Dynamic Quality. I certainly
don't read this as believing some giant humanoid with a thousand arms
will descend from the sky and, like Godzilla, march a path of
destruction over the land. Like Socrates horse-drawn chariot in
Phaedrus, it HAS to be an analogy. Therein lies their illuminating
power. Even "Dynamic Quality" is a name, no more and no less
analogous than "Shiva".

I think Campbell's illumination of the cosmogonic round demonstrates
not only the birth-death cycles but the necessary life epochs
associated with infancy, youth, maturity, and old-age, as well as the
necessary dissolution of static patterns and submission to the Void.
"Only birth can conquer death", he writes, "not of the old-thing
again, but of something new... When our day is come for the victory
of death, death closes in; there is nothing we can do, except be
crucified- and resurrected; dismembered totally and then reborn"
(Campbell, Hero).

[Khaled]
the only time you will see a revolt, is if you take away the beer and
sporting events.

[Arlo]
And even then I don't think you'll see real revolution. You'll see
rioting and a spastic attempt to defibrulate the Giant.

[Khaled]
First you have to raise the conscious level. First the masses have to
know what they are missing out on.

[Arlo]
Exactly, amigo. As I said, To revolt, one must ask, "what are we
fighting for? what do we wish to preserve? what do we wish to
destroy? what do we wish to create?" To answer these, one must know.
