Moved this back to the correctly named thread you came up with Chris:
Chris:
Woods, Arlo almost always has some Quality input, and this post was just
great.
Of course it's a problem that SOM thinking doesn't have DQ anywhere. But
you could have SOM thinking and say that any system needs to be able to be
flexible if the need arises, and then we would be at pretty much the same
level there. Nothing IS dynamic as in DQ. Stuff can have easier or harder to
see new aspects of Quality though. That's all.
woods:
I thought you agreed about dq. The importance of dq in the moq, is the moq holds
significant regard for dynamic quality. The moq provides a matching place for dq, right beside
sq in the first split. SOM doesn't outrightly recognize dq, but as you point out
"SOM... flexible if the need arises, and... same level there." I agree with this, but SOM doesn't
place dynamic quality in high regard. It's not, in any words or concepts, readily mentioned or
pointed out in an SOM philosophy. People feel a need to come up with new concepts, outside
SOM to point out dq. Dmb points these out quite readily (pure experience, and others I can't
think of off the top of my head).
Again, I think you might agree with this, maybe?
