Platt:
Right on. And to the degree you are taxed on your income, you are a slave -
forcibly denied from possessing the fruits of your labor. The income tax is
a low quality social pattern designed to redistribute wealth on the Marxist
principle of "From each according to his ability, to each according to his
need."
woods:
Without personally delving too much into the Marxist stuff, I completely
agree with you, Platt, on the income tax. I've heard there is NO law that we have to
pay the federal income tax; but we do it anyways because we're told to or else we
are threatened with police action and prison.
I've heard we are under law to pay federal income tax, and then I've heard we are
not and I've seen in documentaries were court decisions have not imprisoned people
that evade federal income taxes. Yet, some people are imprisoned if they don't pay
their federal income taxes.
Does anybody truly even know?
I do find the federal income taxes and other taxes to be an evasion on freedoms and
a harm to happiness, i.e. poverty and crisis issues. As said before, not to rid taxes in
general in this monetary system, for I understand the need for taxes, but we need
a more flexible capitalist system (I've brought up fair tax before).
