DM: I agree and would add accountability and democracy.
We need to ensure that corporations are governed correctly
if we are to keep using them as a useful structure (SQ riding the DQ). 
Currently they
only answer to share holders who only concern themselves
with monetary return on capital (profits). To address sustainability
and responsibility this has to be opened up and made more democratic.
The banking crisis shows that corporations have big reposnibilties
and need to be accountable to all of us as interested parties not
just the direct investors and customers, this is about the bigger picture
and long term ends and goals beyond short term profits. The US actually
needs to get on mission and spread freedom to realise quality/value not just 
freedom
to make profits which is too narrow. In the past, seeking profits has helped 
increase
our productive powers, but are productive powers really a problem any more?
We need to consume with more care and quality not with more voraciousness.
In brief, that's my view. Of course, the status quo folk think this is 
unobtainable.
