Marsha asks:

What can you say about your thinking
experience? Have any insights you wish to offer?

Andre:

One of the things I have learnt from NLP is the concept known as
"ancors" . An ancor is an unconscious/reflex response to an external
stimulus. To wit: the external stimulus is automatically associated with a
pattern of sights/sounds/feelings.
Seeing my girlfriend: high quality/ love, Seeing Bush; low
quality/power/oil/war, hearing Beatles:high quality/nostalgia,Hearing church
bells: childhood/bad boy/hell/condemnation. Fireplace: cosy/warm
Christmas tree: nostalgia/family/singing/warmth.

These are automatic responses but since learning about the pattern I am
aware of these and can change them if I want to. Until I was aware of these
I didn't realise their impact nor their consequences.Awareness puts
you in charge of yourself again so to speak.

You can follow it on this Discuss as well (I am not saying I am immuum to
it). Just read the knee-jerk reactions you get when you mention the word
Marxism, Liberalism, America, Terrorism,SOM,MoQ,
It's all there...automatic, pre-fabricated responses.
This was the cause of my agitation against Ham's 'seggregation. It
immediately sparked a lot of associations which may or may not have had any
relavance to Ham's intentions. Still it happened.'

Still have to get back to you on Chinese art.
Andre
