gav:
....stultify the spirit...

woods:
I say that's where the whole problem through and through begins and starts.
It's the pivotal moment where decadence or moral regeneration takes place.
In this case, your pointing out the decadence, which is prevalent still. Thus,
the striving to not only understand quality, but to live it from heart and mind
and to go out from there. This pivot of the spirit is the gateway.

gav:
the internet circumvents these controls and is inexorably moving us towards
genuine democracy, participative democracy. hence the fear of it from governments.

woods:
Exactly. The internet is such a grass roots real-time discuss and do meca. The time
to debate, weed out what's not needed, and then people go and live it, instead of the gov't
trying to come up with these grand schemes from the ivory tower.

gav:
an aside, i don't understand why platt or anyone else (is there anyone else or just platt?) doesn't see that the two sides of politics, in the US or elsewhere, are essentially the same. they are both about maintaining an oligarchy of corporate interests, over and above the rights, desires, wishes, freedom of the populace.

woods:
You got it gav!

gav:
solidarity is the key. divide and conquer has been the order of the day for many years now,
we don't have to join in. the blame game is pointless: blame yourself: it ends and begins right there.

woods:
good post gav.

I recommend this book to all: "The Creature from Jekyll Island" by G. Edward Griffin.
It's a true story about the Federal Reserve. It's not just about the U.S. for the players in
the banking game are global. Jekyll Island is an island in Georgia, U.S.A. were the bankers
first deliberately in secret set out their plan for the Federal Reserve. November 22 there
are going to be protests at all the Federal Reserve buildings in the U.S., don't know if in
other places around the world.
