Unfortunately, both individuals and corporation are surviving on the
government ( the people's) handout. The cycle is too vicious and is
embedded too deeply that I don't know if it is possible to break away
from it.

On a side note here. You tend to see less or no homeless or destitute
people the smaller the towns or cities get. My theory is that every one
knows every one else, and tend to lend a helping hand early on to help
the unfortunate, or that the individual sees that it's by his /her own
sweat that rewards can be reaped.
