Marsha replied:
That's my label, Dave, grandmother?

Uh oh, looks like it's apology night for Dave.
I didn't mean "grandmother" as an insult. Some of my favorite people are grandmothers. One of them happens to be a different grandmother named Marsha whose son recently graduated from law school and yesterday took his first job as a lawyer. She's rightly proud. That particular Marsha is a very cool artist and she's pretty hot too. For whatever it's worth, I am old enough (47) to be a grandfather. One day when I was picking my son up at school I saw a pony-tailed guy my age picking up another student. Assuming he was the boy's father, I joked, "Geezer dads of the world unite!". He said, "Um, actually I'm his grandfather".
I was just disputing Rorty's contention that relativism is a position that nobody holds except for "the occasional cooperative freshman". I only meant that one doesn't have to be a naive child to be a relativist. Sorry, but you're a granny with a master's degree and so I thought you were a great counter-example.
Besides, ain't it just a fact? If you are going to be offended by labels, please be offended by the relativist label.
