for me this problem is cleared up by Ellul's distinction between the
differing realms of Truth and Reality.

If I see a chair, (and at the moment, I do) then that is my observed reality
put together by my brain from the image available.  My written statement
about me seeing a chair is a bunch of words that I put together to express a
truth.

So...  negation is a concept with a truth-value and saying "not-chair" is
mixing up these two differing realms of reality and truth which leads to
confusion.

So the chair recognizes your motion to table the chair.
