Thanks for pointing this out, I'm glad you admit now you were wrong. 
"Ruling classes" do not protect its members against others, often 
they do whatever it takes to destroy other members.

You are stuck in an 1867 view of class.

I thought you said you were going to update your textbooks? When you 
do, you'll see this is wrong as well.

You fail to recognize the tremendous change (& improvement) in 
relations/interactions between the classes since then (cp. your grandfather)

We've sold our soul for trinkets, and the ruling class is aware of 
that. Sure, like I said, there is less say "open violence" between 
the classes, but this is only because the lower classes have allowed 
themselves to be lulled to sleep, they have no more real power than 
they ever had.
