Craig to Marsha:

First of all this is no conversion, it is what ZAMM's "moq" conveys, as
does much of LILA and the Turner letter (partly).
Then to the difference you see between:
1) "The patterns in the intellectual level make that level the S/O level"
2) "The intellectual level = SOM = the value of the S/O divide"
And you may be right, #1 indicates a pre-existing "level" that could
have been filled with any kind of patterns, it just happened to be the
S/O ones, while #2 is the true interpretation. What's described as SOM
in ZAMM, was the intellectual level emerging from its Social parent (in
the Aretê form it had in that area). But I don't think Marsha will object
to this. After all it's a MOQ tenet that the levels "came to be" in the
known succession. When the 3rd. level ruled there weren't any
intellectual level lurking in the wings waiting to be filled with patterns. I
guess it's the intelligence/intellect confusion that invokes such a
notion.
