Marsha:

Me thinks in Asian countries white is the color of death and
mourning.  In the West black is the color of death and mourning.  I
wonder what that means.  -  Red happens to be a favorite color.

Right on Marsha, speaking from the Chinese experience: never give anyone
white flowers or a clock, and by all means, wrap your presents in red paper.
