Quality that "needs no Creator" is a euphemism.  Quality is man's measure of 
Value.  It requires a sensible agent to be realized.  Indeed, value is the 
very essence of sensibility.  Unrealized value is an oxymoron.

As you can see, Platt, I'm not buying Pirsig's "Quality is All" thesis.  For 
the record (Gödel's Theorem notwithstanding), the Essence posited in my 
metaphysics is "uncreated" and therefore does not invoke an infinite 
regression of causes.  That said, I respectfully bounce your Hamlet quote 
back to the MoQ author: "There are more things in heaven and earth, Mr. 
Pirsig, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."   Most notably, the 
fundamental source.
