brother i hear you.
i don't know what the answer is all i know is that it makes me feel terrible to get so angry at folk here....let alone all the wider bullshit that is going on. i don't want to be angry - i want to be free of this banal, cruel prison....and the irony is that this prison is a collective creation....we can let it go and *create what we want* - something better....isn't that what pirsig was on about? isn't that why he spent so much time and effort and went through so much shit?

i don't hate platt or anyone else here. to tell the truth i have some sort of strange respect for platt. he is definitely sticking to his guns, i guess the prob is that this statement may be taken literally.

i know that i won't change much with my exhortations; they serve only as a sanity valve for me i suppose. perhaps they also serve to establish some sort of feeling of solidarity with people like yourself and dave. i hope so.

i guess most folk don't see the writing on the wall yet...or perhaps they choose to ignore it...hoping that it will sort itself out...quality  perhaps will take care of things.

but this is a fucking copout! quality (as far as humans are concerned) acts primarily (exclusively?) through our choices, which means taking responsibility for the world being a mirror of ourselves. the world is fucked up cos we are fucked up...and why are we fucked up? because of division - because of separation, because we forget that you am i and i am you and i am he and she as well. which renders any blame placing illogical.

if we are to place blame let's place it where it can only be placed - at our own feet. we are accomplices in our own enslavement - we choose it. and even then we can go further and see that enslavement as blameless, as an unconscious reflex that only pushes us towards consciousness, liberation....blameless cause, blameless creation.

i don't know! we don't know! because what we know, truly, absolutely is only confused with words and thought...we are using an imperfect medium to try and render the perfect - it is an impossible task and it is the noblest task. it pushes humanity on to greater heights. suffering is the negative face of quality.

you are not alone andre. i am your brother and you have many siblings here, and around the world. 

i guess the US is, as pirsig says, the best and worst of us. its dynamism is unparalleled and it is therefore prone to degeneracy as much as betterment. to be attached to a nation though, nowadays is a total anachronism. let's face it we are of the world full stop: we are going to survive together or suffer and die divided...it's fucking obvious! (isn't it? - tell me if i am wrong please)

jesus what a meditation this forum is!!!! to remain compassionate and detached at the same time...to always bear in mind the greater good rather than focus on the recidivism and regression....to remember that we are all one family and that we can forgive any and all transgressions because when you look deeply into them they are all blameless - a product of the majestic, infinitely complex web of causative creation that we are all integral to. does that mean we are without responsibilty? no. because when we recognise the chain of causative logic we are freed from its power - only when we are unconscious are we tossed about like flotsam...when we are conscious we are plugging back into the matrix with intent!! and we are harnessing the power of the matrix for good.

anyway it is a pleasure to know ya
