Hi Mel,

Happy to use the word gene (instead of meme) provided people recognize
it as encoded information in patterns of value at all levels
(inanimate / living / socio-culturo-intellectual).

I'd hate to have my use of the word meme limited by association with
Dawkins by an accident of history !
