As usual, DMB mischaracterizes and distorts the MOQ to fit his radical left
agenda. The hippie rebellion was NOT against Victorian social level
morality, as Pirsig clearly states in Lila:
"Until World War I the Victorian social codes dominated. From World War I
until World War II the intellectuals dominated unchallenged. From World War
II until the seventies the intellectuals continued to dominate, but with an
increasing challenge—call it the "Hippie revolution"—which failed. (Lila,
24)
The hippie revolution was a challenge to the defective intellectual level,
not the social level. DMB goes off half cocked, again.
