well honestly my reaction is like, duh, has anybody on this forum ever heard
of this book called, zen and the ART of motorcycle maintenance??? It's a
very catchy title, equating art with mechanical maintenance (maintenance no
less - nothing as unglamourous as mechanic doing maintenance) but the author
meant more than just mentioning the two concepts in juxtaposition to sell
more books, he actually made some pretty darn good points in there about
sculpting rotisseries and whatnot.
sheesh.

and I'm especially fond of the idea that philosophy is an art form. Or

I wouldn't be surprised if just about every great philosopher and thinker
from Socrates onward would agree with you. What does "liberal arts" mean?
Painting? but never mind all that. The question to ask of those who
believe in art, is ... is it any good? How can it be made better?

There are differing interpretations of Reality, some are just better than
others, that's all.
