Greetings Kat,
To me SOM is a flavor of metaphysics where reality is divided into
two kinds of entities: self (subjective mind) and objects (body,
matter, independent things). The MOQ conceives of reality being made
of Value (Quality) which can be thought of as having two
aspects: Dynamic and static. The static quality is not a collection
of independent things but patterns, static patterns of value that is
overlaid onto experience. Experience, which is a synonym for
Quality, comes first and stimulates the static patterns which
seemingly divides the world into self and things.
This is my take on it. If you have questions, keep asking them. It
will truly help us all.
MoQ'ers, any of you who think I've stated it incorrectly, please say
so. Language is tricky, and I do not want to misrepresent the MoQ.
