Congratulation! A whole week of not mentioning the MOQ or Pirsig in 
a MOQ Discuss, must be "an all time high"! (exceptions for Marsha 
and Platt) 
 
President Obama has been to the Middle East to speak about the 
Muslim vs West conflict. He is a great orator that's for sure and if he 
can get the Jews down to earth it's a good thing, but if the said conflict 
can be settled I doubt. It's the intellectual level having "won the West" 
and opening a new front, relentlessly pushing it's value against the last 
stronghold of Q-social value - the Muslim culture. And the Muslims 
themselves are in a bend, most dislike the Taleban, Al Qaeda, Hamas 
and other fundamentalists, but on the other hand these are the true 
believers and can't be condemned without condemning Islam itself. I 
notice in this country how they fret. Islam is their "identity" and even if 
they act as liberal when pressed Islam surfaces and it is anything but 
liberal and this issue they aren't able to address. How the Euro- and 
American muslims will tackle the situation in the long run is a big 
question. Look to the last EU-parliament elections in Holland, if the 
local muslim fundamentalists continue to act as if islam rules in the 
West I'm afraid a new antisemitism will emerge.  

The solution is if the MOQ "takes hold" and the world view is moved 
from intellect (from SOM) and on to the MOQ, but that's a slim chance 
with most denying the interpretation that makes (the above) sense, 
except Marsha who wants to "kill intellectual patterns" i.e see the 4th 
level for what it really is - a STATIC level - not a mind that can change 
its ideas  .... and John Carl who spoke about removing the "M" from 
the SOM which is the same thing .
