[Nick]
Yeah Platt, Arlo doesn't understand that natural rights are of
individuals and people reason them.

[Arlo]
Ah, Nick! You are partially out of the haze. Yes! People REASON them!
Woo hoo! There may be hope yet!

[Nick]
He says he can take my land...lol

[Arlo]
Oooo... so close, then you go again with this whack-job bullshit.
When did I say this, you paranoid little nutcase?

[Nick]
And as this document among many, many documents clearly shows is that
even Jefferson who wrote this document understood that the government
operates by the consent of the people.

[Arlo]
Why of course it does! Revelation, Nick! Consent... socially agreed
upon civil governance! Woo hooo! You DO get it.

[Nick]
This document was written by a *person* named Thomas Jefferson.

[Arlo]
Ah, maybe you don't. This document was collaborative, based on a
growing and escalating intellectual dialogue involving many, many
people. Jefferson did not just write it out thin air, he wrote it as
man's REASON was expanding based on his growing observations of the
world. Our "rights" are a product of this REASON. And Jefferson and
others set up a civil governance to bring legitimacy and authority to
the ideas they had.

So close, Nick, and then more haze. Tsk tsk.
