Ian,

I think Horse did what he felt he had to do, and I find no fault with 
his decision.

I know it's a game.  Sometimes the game can seem soooo tedious, I 
want to cry.   But I am not a leader; I am the boss of no one.  I 
can, though, dream of a replay with a better ending.
