Well that is exactly the case, thats Pirsigs whole arguement.. Reflex equates to Quality,
the response of an organism to it's environment.
Quality is based on reflex, immediate biological reflex. Quality IS self preservational reflex.
More empirical and provable than any objective "truth".Quality is expereince.

MP: But this only further disproves your own point: *Reflex* takes you off the 
stove. 

To affirm that this reflex is based on Quality as opposed to simple biological self 
preservation takes faith because you can't *prove* its Quality rather than 
biological self preservational reflex. The latter is the only thing you can actually 
prove, the former is un-provable. You have evidence "for" the latter but only 
evidence "of" the former.
