Point is, though: What do you care if the Jains wear masks and for whatever 
reason? If it does not impinge on your freedom to kill the bugs what do you
care

I don't care what Jains do. I don't care if your house is roach infested or
whether you get malaria, or encephalitis as the price of your personal
convictions. In fact I rejoice in the diversity of human expression. But at
the same time I don't want Jains passing laws declaring that mosquitoes have
some potential to become human in the next life and declaring it murder to
swat one which is the kind of thing you seem to be advocating.
