No, he's not. I was just impressed that he finally was able to see 
some light. Like Specter, I think his move was calculated as the 
rabid right became too vile for even him to pander to any longer.

By the way, speaking of political correctness, I found a passage 
today where Pirsig talks about as well.

"The state of Montana at this time was undergoing an outbreak of 
ultra-right-wing politics like that which occurred in Dallas, Texas, 
just prior to President Kennedy's assassination. A nationally known 
professor from the University of Montana at Missoula was prohibited 
from speaking on campus on the grounds that it would "stir up 
trouble." Professors were told that all public statements must be 
cleared through the college public-relations office before they could

I wonder if Platt would have his teabags all bungeed up about that?

Another example, I recall that (aptly named) Politcally Incorrect 
host Bill Maher was driven off the air for making the "un-PC" comment 
about those who flew the 9/11 planes were evil, yes, but cowards no. 
Cowards, Maher commented, are those that push a button from a comfy 
office and detonate a missile half a world away.

You think the PC backlash Maher suffered had Platt steeping his teabags?

Finally, will Arlo ever tire of the teabag jokes? Don't count on it. 
:-) And yeah, you're right, that manufactured event was very aptly 
named, even if the "aptness" was unintended.
