[Marsha]
You do seem to like to use this kind of language, and Platt gives you
your opportunity.

[Arlo]
If I "enjoyed" it, don't you think you'd see that in my replies to
more people than just Platt? I am angry, quite frankly, because I
DON'T enjoy having to play deceptive rhetorical games while I watch
any real dialogue become completely derailed every time Platt is
either incapable of defending an assertion or the Glorious Right is
criticized in any way. I call it out because it embarrasses me. It is
shameless and dishonest and that anyone tolerates it at all is beyond
me. But yeah, every now and then he posts about a work of art, so woohoo...

[Marsha]
Platt and Arlo, in spite of their political differences, two sides of
a single coin.

[Arlo]
Now that's just insulting. As I pointed out (again, this isn't the
first time), I offered several points to the discussion, while all
Platt did was fall back on tired rhetorical deceptive tactics. He
LIED outright about my comments, evaded all the points about
right-wing PC (I ask again (1) Platt, are you outraged about the use
of PC to redefine "torture" as "interrogation techniques", by the
vile PC assaults on the Chicks or Maher? (2) Are you, Mr. Individual
Liberty, the least bit concerned that your own comment "every
regulation takes something away from individual liberty", which you
use to paint Krimel as anti-liberty, is ridiculously hyprocritical
considering that in that same post you also support laws restriction
who a gay person can or can not marry?) AND used deliberate
misrepresentation in an attempt to demean my position ("freedom to
run around naked in public", when he knows that is a blatant
distortion of my position).

This isn't about disagreeing. This isn't even about having a heated
exchange. This is about the fact that in every dialogue Platt is in
where he makes assertions and then cannot defend them, or if the
right-wing is criticized in any way, it opens up a barrage of
deliberate lies, evasions, distortions and similar talk-radio devices
all designed to bring the dialogue to a stop. (Go back and find the
threads about "purpose" or "consciousness", same thing there... with
everyone else the dialogue moves fine, even given disagreement, but
the moment Platt realizes he said something that makes no sense, that
even he cannot defend, his replies immediately start being "you're a
commie socialist acerdemic anti-liberty media elitist". And that's
that, end of game. There is no way to hold an intellectual dialogue with that.

You and I may disagree, and you and I may argue vociferously about
certain things, but you never play these games to end the dialogue,
Marsha. And if you think I do, if you think I do this same stuff I am
calling Platt out on, then please give me some examples, as I have
given just a few here about Platt. I mean, read my earlier post back
to Willblake. Do you think I evaded any issue? Used misrepresentation
or deceit to paint WillBlake as a evil rightist/leftist ideologue
attacking the wholesome and pure people of my ideology?
