A third thought...
There is also the differentiation between intellectual patterns and
intelligence. Intellectual patterns are supposed to be divorced from
value, while I define intelligence as having everything to do with
value. Intelligence is not a collection of intellectual patterns but
a process of thinking directly based on value. In fact RMP at the
end of LILA advises that it would be using intelligence to kill all
intellectual patterns and go for Dynamic Quality. So Ron's shaman
may have great innate, insightful intelligence and not possess one
single intellectual pattern. Intellectual patterns are just an
evolutionary movement, that does not mean they are not a
maladaptation, or as Krishnamurti might say 'mankind taking a wrong turn'.
