economic systems from Communism to Capitalism while maintaining the same
sorts of authoritarian social controls.  And couldn't you look at the US's
recent record as to detention and torture and admit that not every singe
person killed by our guns and our planes is a non-innocent?  In some
situations and for a certain time, Capitalism seems to be more efficient as
an economic system than communism.

The capitalist class can round up dissidents and send them to death camps (and/or equivalents) because it has a State (as instrument of oppression) it controls and wields. There is a dictatorship of the Capitalist Class, just as there is a Dictatorship of the Proletariat. More, the capitalist class has its organic intellects (in the Gramscian sense), paid or unpaid, who wittingly or unwittingly support its low quality ideology, economic strategies and tactics, and political and military structures of oppression. In Russia the revisionist Communist Party is a capitalist party. The system has to be exposed and opposed.DQ will triumph in the end. IMO, of course.
