i wonder why people are scared of cuddling up to mysticism....
tis a denial - of intuitive knowledge, of quality itself.
why is that girl beautiful, so beautiful to me? why?
 there is no scientific explanation, not an adequate one anyway. not one that captures the truth of the experience....why?
because we are talking of immediate, intuitive knowledge; the knowledge that precedes, inspires and eludes rational explanations....a little glimpse of eternity, infinity, the mystery.

the mystery is only mysterious to the rational mind; the mystery can be identified with and then understood - know thyself. and then it can even be explained.....but the explanation will never capture it....it may get you closer to the experience of it however.

you have to start from experience - this is the touchstone; the abstract is used to connect the dots, embellish, enhance.
the primary material, the raw stuff comes first, preselected by its preeminence in memory, recollection.

you americans should know this better than all, cept the french perhaps: henry miller, anais nin: the father and mother, sister and brother, lovers, an alchemical marriage of opposites: the true and equal union of man and woman, the herald of the new age.

literature, the novel has been dying for decades, a new form of writing, alive, immediate has taken its place, though it is still rare; zamm partakes of this direction - tis a return to the immediate, the sensate, quality.

but henry miller is your patron saint america - gandhi with a penis, as karl shapiro said. he is your man, an apocalypse of a man, a laughing buddha, a destroyer, a man immersed and unstruggling in the wild currents of life; he is of the mystery - a prophet and poet
