Steve:
This statement represents a profound misunderstanding of Pirsig. I
wonder at how someone could have participated for so long on this forum
and still make such a statement.

Pirsig does not try to make value objective but rather wants to
undercut the whole subjective/objective dichotomy. There is no
subjectivity and objectivity in Pirsig's philosophy in the way you use
the terms. Objective in the MOQ just means "things that are easy to get
agreement on" like inorganic and biological patterns, and subjective
just means "things that are hard to get agreement on" like social and
intellectual patterns. Value can be either objective or subjective
depending on the situation.

Best,
Steve
