Well sure, why would somebody seek something they presupposed didn't exist?
Unless they were making some sort of philosophical argumentitive point.

Ah well. World models are tricky things. They really oughta be held
contingently. Let's correct them when we catch them doing it wrong Ian, and
make the world model a better place.
