Hi Steve, 

No and no. DQ is a moral force for good, the good being freedom from 
static patterns -- "any pattern of one-sided fixed values that tries to 
contain and kill the ongoing free force of life." (Lila,9) Pirsig describes 
this moral force as creating "this world in which we live" and "the source 
of all things." Despite what some here might want you to believe, I find 
nothing in the MOQ suggesting DQ is anything but a natural force. 
There's no evidence it is some sort of higher intelligence or acts in 
accord with a predetermined plan.
