I'd also add that losing control, the unexpected, the arts, sensitivity and
an open mindedness are Not For Sissies - you have to be tough-minded to
examine yourself and your own weakness.

Best example I can think of?  Marsha's oft-quoted passage in Lila - the
indictment of the perfessor by the tramp.
