John,

<John>
Your posting sure triggered a lot for me, Todd. I used to get into this
debate myself quite a bit with a former friend.
Former.

<Todd>
I'd be interested in hearing about the former friend. Hopefully, they did
not travel down the dynamically biological path you described on their way
to former-ness.

<John>
But do you really want to? Where you are at is a choice you've made in the
pursuit of some quality you thought you wanted. What changed your mind?

<Todd>
Yes. We reap what we sow.

<John>
What you are expressing tho, is one of the many reasons I believe that a
good philosophical system is grounded in communalism vs individualism. Any
person is a product of their society, and in order to attain a high quality
individual you have to have a high quality society. You need a mix of
dynamic and static people, in the right mixture (not too much salt!) to get
the soup just right.

<Todd>
John, a community cannot experience quality. (Though I am still out on what
"the giant" can and cannot do.) Only individuals have that capacity.
However, individuals can improve their quality, their experience of quality,
their lives more effectively in a society that allows them to share and
learn from their experiences.

Thanks for helping me to see that.
