Ron,
You didn't clarify your discomfort with the levels?
What you have written below is a series of static patterns of value; are
these spov ultimately and independently real? (I love this question... I'm
externalizing my own internal, never-ending question.) The answer is: no.
There are many ways to dance with this: and she whirl and twirl and she
tangos.

I'm not interesting in playing that sort of game, I think
we can safely assume we both "get it" and understand
what we mean when we say "I" and "we"
well, thats kinda my point, it's an agreement, a consensus.
S/O is an outdated assumption, like the devil and god duke 'n it out.
The problem with Academics is'nt that they go to school or
the language they use or the assumptions they make..rather
the certainty in which they hold thier beliefs.
That unwavering absolute certainty.
You go ask a few folks down at the local bar about "objects"
and they look at you sideways and mutter "Iguess so"
"never really thought about it" their intellect is caught up in social
concerns mostly. Whose being traded on their sports team
how their gonna get even with their asshole nieghbor, their new
fishin rod...ect. Now these folks figure out their bills
they manipulate their nieghbors they shop frugally they use
intellect but with a social aim...are they not on the intellectual level?
they measure dope, gamble and steal, that takes some
manipulation of abstract symbols, slaves to their passions
without ryme or reason but with plenty of justification.
they value intellectual patterns for how they satisfy their
biological and social needs, but not much else.
Like church, they go because it's socially acceptable
but it is seldom thought about.
The church of reason is the problem, and I have gone to church
and understand all the rituals and am very practiced at it, but
I simply never really believed in it. The preists and a few others
swallow it hook line and sinker.
those are the "Blind faithers" the sticklers, the bible thumpers
and it's that sort, the one I feel is being termed the "intellectual
level" the "think tankers" the "social planners" the "scientific
community" those folks are the problem. The new level of social
elitism one based on the mastery of a particular system of thought
is the problem. The social domination of a particular system of
intellectual patterns.
