My only guess for why he left that pursuit was that he had more to say
(obviously) than what would be delivered by exhaustively analyzing each
example. However, for us who are stuck in our static lives, it may be
illustrative to see how a simple example, like "What is the MOQ morality
surrounding capital punishment?" gets worked out.

Hi Todd and all,
Pirsig uses ³dynamic² in two ways. In one way ³dynamic² is undefined DQ/SQ.
The second way in Chapter 13 he says: ³In general given a choice of two
courses to follow and all other things being equal, that choice which is
more Dynamic, that is, at a higher level of evolution is more moral.²
Imho ³Dynamic², the undefined, is equated to evolution. How, since it is
undefined, can it be understood as being in a particular level of evolution?
So you can say yes or no to DQ? That is not my understanding of evolution.
At the sentient level, there is inorganic DQ, Organic 1 DQ, (Organic 2 DQ
evolution through cell fertilization), social DQ, intellectual DQ, (higher
social DQ), (higher intellectual DQ)! (The last two are evolution in only
awareness which require a special discipline. MOQ Discuss!) Not all people
die as equals, there¹s work to do.
I would be interested to hear your take on population control through
capital punishment and birth control. I have no clear cut understanding of
the metaphysics of either one.
