Ron to John:
see this makes some sense of Bodvars claims, the struggle we think is
society/intellect is really dynamic social good verses static social good.
the intellectual level is the freedom to think for ourselves. a level that
few aspire to.
Andre:
Not wanting to be facetious Ron but what stops you from thinking for
yourself this very moment?
It appears to me that the point you are making is the reason why ZMM and
Lila were written. It's what Phaedrus encountered on his journey again and
again. Imho
Andre,
I guess it's alittle different when you come to it on your own
all over again in different ways contrary to what others think.
The data doesent change, but the way in which it is looked at has,
and does, constantly. For this set of patterns anyhoo.(me).
So maybe presenting it differently will make some sense to
those who do not see it that way.
Also it was my way of trying to open up some dialog on the subject
of SOM being the intellectual level and MoQ on a level beyond.
I think SOM, having competed with and replaced victorian social
patterns has become the dominant social level pattern. The problem
is social level patterns dominating intellectual level patterns. Not the other
way around. MoQ promotes free thought, and for me free thought is
the intellectual level, the Q-level as Bo would say. So when Bo
posits that SOM loses it's "M" status he's really proposing that
S/O has become a social level pattern with the intellectual level
now being one of Quality, one of free thought. The ability to think
for yourself and come to your own conclusions based on value.
Now THAT works, without any addition to the levels or retention
of SOM intellectual patterns as THE intellectual level. It describes
the situation with more clarity too. It's more acurate.
I've tried to explain to Bo in the past how I believe SOM cultural values
dominate the intellectual level, it's partially why it has become a kind of
evil not to mention the flaws with it's structure that undercuts itself.
The struggle between individual values and social values.
And yes Andre this trail of bread crumbs leads right back to
the the impetus for RMP's work. Something thats not quite
as obvious as one would think it to be. I'm a connect-the-dots
fanatic, the kids hate me.
It's what I do for a living, produce maps from co-ordinates.
