[John]
Also what you mean by "people", because it was right in the middle of a heating
debate with myself that dave "walked away", which would imply you're talking
about me, bucko.

[Arlo]
I'm not talking about any one, I am talking about the dismissive near glee by
which DMB's departure has been met. And the strange smugness that surrounds the
fact that someone who has received high praise from Pirsig himself being gone
is better for us, somehow.

[John]
... and be rid of all you loathesome, evil, academic overloards.

[Arlo]
Well, you're jesting a bit here, but its not far of the mark for the
accelerating "damn the academics" feeling that's being fanned here of late.

[John]
Motivated by something other than understanding the MoQ.... that I really don't
get. Like what? talk about yer nebulous accusation...

[Arlo]
Really? I don't think its "nebulous" at all.

[John]
... and I think your guessing about a Pirsig-McWatt-Buchanan dialogue is SO far
off the mark its laughable.

[Arlo]
Pirsig already has personal correspondence with them. It does not take a genius
to recognize where he chooses to offer his energies when he does.

[John]
Arlo, I firmly believe you are very wrong about some fundamental things.

[Arlo]
I'm shocked. Shocked, I say.
