Arlo,
In spite of what you may think I should have said, I was very upset. Dave I
someone I really care about.
As far as Nick's threats, I think you may be the biggest wimp on a Harley in
the state of Pennsylvania.
Marsha

I was very upset that dmb walked away, but then I was very upset that
Nick was driven away.
[Arlo]
Nick was not driven away. He was suspended from the forum by the
moderator after making repeated threats of gun violence.
And you're being "very upset that DMB walked away" consisted of "I
guess he can't take what he dishes out". Yeah, that's "very upset".
But don't lose sight of my reply to Platt here. I'm not making
comments about DMB's "politeness", his interactive style or anything
else like this. I am only bothered by the apparent glee that his
departure has garnered by some, and I find this quite pathetic in a
forum where he has received very high praise regarding his
understanding from the very man whose ideas we are (ostensibly) here
to discuss.
When Platt said "DMB needed a lot of help", he could not have been
referring to DMB's understanding of the MOQ, since Pirsig himself has
said otherwise. Was it his politeness? Maybe, but again I'd choose
someone who is impolite but understands the MOQ a great deal to
someone who is polite but offers nothing of value. Mental state? Who
do you think needs help more. DMB for being bombastic or Nick for
repeating threats about shooting people until the moderator, a pretty
laid back and easy going guy if there ever was one, decided to
intervene? (By the way, I am not Horse. If you want to challenge
Horse's decision again, you'll need to take it up with him.) But I
will say this, I never once cheered that Nick was gone, nor have I
once made a dismissive remark about him since.
