Please don't think I am justifying an authoritative orthodoxy, I am only saying that
dialogic progression depends on the clarity of what the other person is saying.
Ron:
I think I understand your point, and I agree. Members want to paint
Bob as being somehow purposfully enigmatic, from every interview
I have ever heard, he was trying to be as plain as he possibly could be,
he considered his work to be complete and exhaustive in explaination.
I think what causes the confusion is his example of how looking
at an important concept like evolution, which is undercut by scientific
objectivism, takes on a powerful new dimension when viewed in terms of value.
Now people have taken that example as THE model of THE MoQ instead of
an example of how looking at objective structures of thought from a point of
view of a value centered metaphysics, actually enhances the explaination
it provides.
He used many other examples like how atoms can be viewed as "prefering their bonds"
Iron filings ect..
So, to have violent discussions about the meaning of the levels is to basically take his
most developed example as THE structure of the MoQ. And if you do that, then yes
shit aint gonna jive with the rest of his work. Which is probably why he doesent get
what all the confusion is about.
