I'm curious, what are these "all the more interesting patterns of value"
that you think are being left out of the picture?

That seems about it. He seems intent on working with that "logical
definition" of intellect, whilst ignoring that this leaves all the
more interesting patterns of value out of his picture. I can't believe
that is either what Pirsig intended or better / less-ambiguous than
what Pirsig intended.
