All:
Accidentally came upon the following quote that captured the essence of
the MOQ in a sentence:
"Most of us, when all is said and done, like what we like and make up
reasons for it afterwords." -- Soren F. Petersen
A quick Google search didn't reveal much about who Petersen is (or
was), but he says value first, intellect after -- or as Pirsig put it when
someone sits on a hot stove:
"But that the quality is low is absolutely certain. It is the primary
empirical reality from which such things as stoves and heat and oaths
and self are later intellectually constructed." (Lila, 5)
Two expressions of the same metaphysics, where value precedes all
ideation.
One expression I've heard that expresses the value-first reality: "I'm a
good (or not so good) place.
Here's hoping you're in a good place today. Perhaps later we can talk.
