I would agree that we have trained generations to 
believe that materialism, that is self-stimulation through
the material world, is more important than spiritualism.
Quantum physics is an extension of this materialism.
That is, consciousness is physical.

We have also taught generations that the human intellect
is somehow different and special.  Once this illusion is
dismissed, much falls into place.

Hey John C,

Consciousness is the ground of being and our brains, those overgrown 
bulbs of nerve tissue, are regulators of that consciousness, allowing in 
what we need to survive and giving us occasional glimpses of its 
transcendent magnificence. Along those lines you might find an article
