Bodvar to Andre:
...(the ignored prophet ;-)
Andre:
Don't agree with the pronoun Bodvar, the adjective?...well...I consider
myself a light-weight really on this MD. I cannot throw all those impressive
sounding names around, nor the 'isms' and 'ologies'. Maybe I should emulate
Peter Gabriel and 'stretch my mouth to let those big words fall right out'.
And I am not here to impress, dominate or impose...only to contribute and
learn and through this process create someting useful with and for
eachother.
Bodvar:
You see how soon threads decays and/or hijacked by other "causes"
Andre:
Yes, and their lateral drifts but still they are useful as well...at times!
Bodvar:
But does the Orientals really regard their world view as "mystic"? As
an Occidental having lived in China you should know...
Andre:
They absolutely do not regard their world view as mystic!! They rather see
it as common sense...to paraphrase Einstein, as quoted in Lila (p102):
common sense...as a bundle of patterns of value acquired before and
continued after the age of eighteen.
It is so much part of their 'make-up', their psyche, their language and all
the equivalent of the MoQ's levels, they do not understand (!!) how one can
suggest another way of experiencing.
In this way, their experiencing is much more 'direct' than our (Western)
way. They do not appear to taken a-back by all these conceptualisations
which occur (so we are told) during the time-lapse of experiencing the tree
and seeing it (i.e intellectualising about it).
I am not even sure if they do 'intellectualise' about it. A tree is a tree.
If I want to paint this tree, I will sit beside the tree , become the tree
and then I know how to paint it.
To a Westerner this sounds so naive but to a Chinese my questions sound so
far fetched...so intellectual...so superficial!...so way off.
I am also following your posts with Ron with great interest. When I have a
question or addition I with surface again. In the mean time, I have just
been offered a job in Mongolia, of all places. Time to contemplate and
consider my girlfriend.
Cheers
Andre
