... displaying a fine example of "intellectual pondering."
[Arlo]
The problem is, that talk-radio nonsense you inject this forum with HAS been
intellectually responded to countless times. Even in my last post, I point out
*clearly* why Steve Russell's quote is an example of the worst kind of
distortive hyperbole, and why its shameful we find it here.
But it keeps happening. Years go by and same vile, distortive and moronic
rhetoric keeps appearing here, and so, yes, I have hit a point where I just
call it for what it is.
It is beneath intellectual discourse, THAT'S the point.
"Death panels", or the idiocy surrounding the conservatives rhetoric about
Obama's speech, are not "intellectual arguments". THAT was my point. They are
evil precisely because all they are designed to do is use an angry, incited mob
to beat down intellect.
And, as I pointed out (as was Ron's initial point about the Bush speech), its
not like the Prime Squawkers are too stupid to know. Russell clearly knew Bush
gave a similar address, an address backed by Gingrich and every other
conservative in Washington. But instead of acting on that, he turned to the
deliberate, deceitful invectives that would serve no other purpose but to
incite an angry mob of misinformed voters.
THAT was evil. That it gets repeated HERE? Well, THAT is shameful. And
embarrassing to us all. So cry me a river that I respond to it by calling it
what it is...
