Marsha to Bodvar:
RMP has made a connection between Buddhism and the MoQ, and I think it very
worthwhile to explore that connection. After all it seems the one purpose of
the MoQ is to bring together the Western intellect with the Eastern
insight/wisdom.

Andre:
Hi Marsha, couldn't agree more especially regarding the technique of
meditation. Reanney was all in favour of it as well. But again it is the
Western attitude that finds something 'new-agey' about this practice and
often is dismissed as just another 'relaxation' technique.

I really liked it when Pirsig, in ZMM at one point says (when stuck I think)
well...just stare at the thing!! And in his story about sailing, his use of
the word 'vacation' as in giving the mind a chance to 'vacate' all the
static patterns...as indeed the cup of tea analogy. Keeping it empty so that
new stuff can come in, uncontaminated by what's  already there.

In this sense do not pay too much attention to Bodvar's reluctance to
associate the MoQ and Zen which is associated with ...mysticism. He himself
has labelled it a SOM term....and should know that it is one of many ways of
going after DQ.

Ron:
I agree, and when MoQ is boiled down and "reduced" thats what it is all about
allowing yourself to be open to dynamic patterns. Solving the stuckness of
static prejudices, the gumption traps. When your head is stuck in a particular
way of looking at experience.

The purpose of emptying your cup is to try new stuff, the fun of trying new stuff
is sharing it...then emptying for more new stuff..
a collection of preferences is  fine but the one who is thankful for each
sample, whether bitter or sweet is a tea drinker who's open to anything.
A truer connoisseur of the supple art of sampling.

Krishnamurti made a comment about being, more often than not,
in a state of meditation. Approaching the now empty.

in this way, the same old tea to some, is a new experience
each time to others..

Krishnamurti explained how the plurality of being is so vast
the mind must simplify, it simplifies into simularities

creating the illusion of stability
