Agree Arlo, perhaps I should have used Anthony's term 'stable' which 
does convey the intention of that what is meant.

I like "stable", personally, but I think everyone here is smart 
enough to grasp that Pirsig was not imply that something "static" is 
forever-unchanging. Well, maybe I should take that back... "almost 
everyone", how's that? ;-) Moreso, its just a personal thing with me, 
the "baggage" that the term "static" carries. No biggie... I actually 
like "more permanent", its one of those fun language pairs... hints 
at oxymoronism.... like as kids we used to say "infinity plus one"...

However, when you get into this arguement you get lost. It suggests 
that you have a preconceived idea of what river it is you step in to 
or , for that matter you have stepped out of....the experience is 
Dq/Sq. Let's keep it stable.
