Yea but I can disagree without being supercilious, right? And maybe it's a moral failing on my part, but when people say dumb things I think it's okay to call a spade a spade. Conversation helps keep us honest that way, you know? I'm just talking in general here, I don't think you said anything that merits a haughty scolding or whatever and I assume you can be persuaded by reason.
But I have to say that your dismissal of James is hard to understand. Pirsig equates his MOQ with James's thought, especially on the issue of replacing subject-object metaphysics with a Quality metaphysics. Since they are identical in this respect, I don't see how it can make any sense to accept one and reject the other.
