[Arlo had asked]
... we say the "inorganic level" consists of "inorganic patterns of value",
but what kind of "pattern" is the "inorganic level" itself?
[Craig]
IMHO the inorganic level consists of ALL inorganic patterns of value. The
CONCEPTS "level" & "pattern of value" are intellectual patterns of value.
[Arlo]
This is what I think too, and this is also Pirsig's position, but my question
was prompted by Mary who said that levels are not concepts, and by Bo's
insistence that the MOQ is in effect a new level of patterns above intellect.
In essence, if the "inorganic level" itself is NOT an inorganic pattern of
value, NOT a biological pattern of value, NOT a social pattern of value, and
NOT an intellectual pattern of value, what kind of pattern of value is it?
