Good stuff, Marsha.  Whenever I hear somebody proudly proclaim, "I'm
spiritual, not religious", I inwardly roll my eyes.  It's become trite.

Just like when I hear some plump social worker assuring a group of
inner-city kids that each and every one of us is special.  Both formulations
stem from a culture that emphasizes individuality to the point of absurdity.

 "Mystics all speak the same language. They understand each other. Buddhism
has brought new life to the Abrahamic religions, and this has been a
wonderful contribution."

Good stuff indeed!

Now, somewhere I left a dialogue with you hanging in the air, to which I
want to respond.  Gotta go find it...
